The Program:

The Autism program at Roosevelt High School serves students from 14 to 21 years of age with autism. The program focuses on teaching students the Life Skills necessary to live and work independently in their communities. Each student’s program is individualized and based on his/her parent(s)/guardian(s), the special education teacher, general education teachers and adult serve agencies.

The curriculum in the Autism program teaches Life Skills/Daily Living Skills, Community-based training, vocational experiences, and Communication/Social skills (Curriculum page).

The teachers in the classroom include the head teacher, 4 instructional assistants ( Staff), and peer tutors (Peer Tutoring Program page).
